Peer Review Process

The review process focuses on the contribution, novelty, originality, relevance, and presentation of the article. In the first stage, the manuscripts will be reviewed by the Editor. The manuscripts will be evaluated whether they fit the focus and scope of JOEY: Journal of English Ibrahimy or have methodological flaws and large similarity scores using Turnitin.

Manuscripts will be sent to at least two anonymous reviewers (Double Blind Review). The reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary action and response.

Suggested decisions will be evaluated in an editorial board meeting. Afterwards, the Editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.

Review Outcomes

Utilising feedback from the peer review process, the Editor will make the final publication decision. Decision categories include:

  • Reject - Rejected manuscripts will not be published and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to JOEY.
  • Resubmit for Review - The manuscript needs to be revised, but with significant changes, it may be accepted. However, this will require a review.
  • Accept with Revisions - Manuscripts that receive an accept-postponed-revise decision will be published in JOEY subject to minor/major modifications. Revisions will be reviewed by the editors to ensure necessary updates are made prior to publication.
  • Accept - Accepted manuscripts will be published in their existing form with no further modifications required.

Correspondence

All correspondence regarding manuscripts should be addressed to the JOEYEditor and addressed to joey@ibrahimy.ac.id. The Editor will direct all correspondence to the corresponding author; the corresponding author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors. In addition to communications regarding review, manuscripts accepted for publication may require additional correspondence to finalise editing and layout edits.
