Abstract

In the Independent Curriculum, teachers have the autonomy to select and organize instructional materials that meet the needs and characteristics of their students. This flexibility aims to encourage teachers to innovate in developing effective teaching methods and materials. Specifically for Arabic language instruction, educators can curate relevant content while aligning with predetermined learning outcomes. This study aims to design and develop “AaBaTa”, an Android-based Arabic literacy application tailored for Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah students in accordance with the Independent Curriculum. The research employs the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model as the methodological framework for application development. The study involves user testing and evaluation to assess usability and content effectiveness. The findings indicate that participants highly rated both the user interface's ease of use and the appropriateness of the content, with average Likert scale scores of 4.83 and 4.82, respectively. Additionally, 82.93% of respondents strongly agreed that the interface was user-friendly, while 81.71% strongly agreed that the content was well-aligned with the curriculum. These results suggest that the AaBaTa application has the potential to enhance Arabic literacy learning by providing an engaging and structured digital platform.
