This study investigated nursing students' English language needs through a systematic review in order to improve methods of teaching and curriculum development. 14 studies published between 2015 and 2024 were reviewed to highlight the critical role of English proficiency in nursing education and professional practice. This review identified some themes, such as the importance of English for academic and career purposes, the need for developing core language skills, a preference for interactive and practical learning methods, and the requirement for support in online learning environments. The findings suggest the necessity of designing English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and English for Nursing Purposes (ENP) courses tailored to the needs of nursing students. To increase professional and healthcare quality, evidence-based recommendations for curriculum developers, educators, and policymakers are nedded to improve the English language training of nursing students.</p> Fisma Copyright (c) 2024 JOEY: Journal of English Ibrahimy https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.ibrahimy.ac.id/index.php/JOEY/article/view/5451 Thu, 01 Aug 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation Silent Reading for English Subject at Islamic Education Department at STIT Aqidah Usymuni Sumenep https://journal.ibrahimy.ac.id/index.php/JOEY/article/view/4886 <p>Silent reading refers to the act of reading without vocalizing the words. According to the study's findings, student's understanding of English vocabulary can be significantly impacted by the dictation games approach. The average score from the pre- and post-tests shows this. Pre-test mean score is 68.11; post-test mean score is 92.70. The result of the hypothesis test with the paired sample t-test is a t-score (+) 21.170 since the t-score &gt; 1.729. The fact that the alternative hypothesis, or H1, is accepted and the null hypothesis, or H0, is rejected, it can be said that dictation game gives a positive effect on students’ vocabulary mastery.</p> Mislawiyadi Mislawiyadi, M.
