This study aims to examine the partial effects of green banking implementation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on the profitability of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2020 and 2024, as well as to determine whether bank soundness plays a moderating role in these relationships. The study employs quantitative methods, specifically multiple regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to test the moderating variable. Data were sourced from secondary data—specifically annual reports and sustainability reports—of IDX-listed banks that met the purposive sampling criteria. The results indicate no significant effect of green banking on profitability; similarly, CSR showed no significant impact on profitability. However, regarding the moderating variable, bank soundness was found to moderate the effect of green banking on profitability, whereas it did not moderate the effect of CSR on the profitability of IDX-listed banks during the 2020–2024 period. Given the influence of other factors on profitability, this study suggests further analysis of the macroeconomic aspects of green banking and CSR as a means of realizing maqashid sharia (Sharia objectives) that generate maslahah (public interest/benefit) for stakeholders in the future.
